As you see I've kept my promise...I'm baaaack!
All in one piece and the ol' homestead still stands. The only thing that is fragmented in my mind and I don't hold out a lot of hope for it to ever gather it's pieces together. Not only can't I find anything but I've no idea as to where to look. The first real "evacuation" was well planned over a period of two whole days. Everything was buried so well only the obvious and most needed items were found afterwards so that life at home could function somewhat normally. This last "evacuation" where we crossed the state to stay with friends was more of a "stash and grab". Grabbed were the fiber stuff I could play with while at my knitty/spinny friend's home. Stashed was everything else that I couldn't cover or protect and that would fit into the already packed cupboards or closets. When the storm finally passed my hubby came home alone (no way was I leaving a place with lights and water for the great unknown). Chalk one up for me as there was nothing working until the following day. I returned home the next day but although we had power and water the phone was dead. Since I couldn't read blogs I resorted to straightening out the house and finding "things". I quickly gave up on the "things" I wanted as they must have crawled in fear underneath all the stuff I didn't want. Of course the message that "Possessions Possess You” is ringing loudly in my head and I’m certainly feeling “Possessed”. So just as Mother Nature sends hurricanes to prune her overgrown or useless trees, so must I do something similar. I just hope I can be a little more discriminating :)
More chat and pic’s later….after Hurricane Elayne has made her run through her little world.
