Colonial Fair

You all should have been there!
Great fun ~ well planned ~ zillions of visitors ~ enormously interesting! The weather behaved until around 4 pm when the threatened rain arrived.
When I was told that the Fair was being held in the Spanish Quarter of "Old St. Augustine" I really thought I knew where that was...."wrong"! Well I did know the area but tucked away, usually behind locked wooden gates is maybe a half acre of land that has been left "native". It didn't take long for me to feel like I was a living part of history. All the exhibitor's wore 'period' dress, most were very authentic while some, myself included had fudged the rules...but hey, some of us are new at this.

Rhonda (in hat) shared her table with myself and Nancy and son. Checking us out is another good friend and... another Nancy.

Barbara sat and spun some very "raw looking" cotton all day long. It looked terrible labor intensive.

The "Full Circle Band" played just about ALL day and they were very good.

This little girl couldn't stop dancing and she was lucky enough to have such a willing partner.

I hope we all will be back again next year and have more time to enjoy all the activities.
