The two blankets that I made are from the Leisure Arts "Our Best Baby Afghans" book. This one "Baby's First Building Blocks" is a slip-stitch pattern. The other one "A Shower Of Love" had a pattern of cables and open work. Both were quite labor intensive and not for the days when you want to "just knit something mindless".
Now that the blankies are done, I have to find something else that will stretch my mind. I do have some idea's but need to have a day or two to mull them over. Tomorrow won't be the day for that as I've a "day in Jax (Jacksonville)" planned and taking my KY friends with me. This will involve plenty of shopping and a check to see if my new glasses are ready. There is also a new LYS up there that I want to check out......if I'm able to "just happen" to pass by it.
The Capelet is about finished too, I just have to make the ties and it's ready for the next cold day in Civil War dress.
I swatched the long-haired New Zealand wool that I recently finished spinning and checked as to how well it would felt......it felted beautifully! I also swatched some natural colored Aran yarn - 90% wool / 10% nylon that I'd found at a local Farmers Mkt. It feels rather hard and doubted it would felt but wanted to see how it would stand up to a hard and harsh wash followed by a hot dryer. It softened up beautifully and no shrinkage, so.......as there is at least a pound of it, I can now plan something for it too, perhaps a dye job as well.
There are a couple of shawls still in my UFO bag so they can keep me satisfied until "something" else calls my name. Maybe join a knitalong...hmmm.
