I've set the "deadline" for finishing theLevel 2 of the TKGA MasterKnit Program. To have it all mailed off by the 15th of June is my goal. The sticking point has been the "vest".....just haven't done one that has satisfied me yet. In hopes that by going public I'll feel enough pressure to at least complete the "Bow Blossom" vest and go on with the rest of the program. I hope this will be lucky vest #5.
Before I forget though, I must get an update from TKGA on any changes that may have been made to the test. Talking of changes.......
One thing has to be changed on the Bow Blossom pattern and that is to make it sleeveless...meaning I'll need change the measurement of the arm opening to accomodate the ribbed edging that will replace the sleeves. I've already made another change and that is the method of Cast On. The pattern called for a "long tail" CO. But with a 2 x 2 rib I prefer to use the "Chained 2 x 2 CO" as it's square edge and permanent zig-zag gives a mirror image of the normal 2 x 2 Bind Off I'll use. So I'm already causing myself some trouble as I'll have to write out the changes to please the judges.
By the way the pattern is from the new Cast On Mag'. It's something my DGD would love although I'm doing it in natural-colored 100% cotton from Holland. She's not a pink girl anyway......more blues and naturals like her "mamaw" :)

This silk is what I started when Carolyn visited just over a week ago, and is I believe, about the thinnest yarn I've ever spun. It wouldn't match Carolyn's skinny yarns but I'm quite pleased with getting 306 yds from 3/4 of an ounce of silk. Of course, silk really does spin itself so this isn't such a big deal and I also think I underspun the ply's . The #10 crochet thread that I used to tie the skein helps give something for comparason. The color is a bit "off" also....should have more of a green tint.

I've finished knitting and felting the Winter Desert bag, but it still needs some embellishing, then I post pictures.
There won't be much of anything accomplished tomorrow since I'll be in Jacksonville all day. Mostly fun wrapped around a visit to my doctor (just for more fine tuning). Oh, and talking of fine tuning..............high fives for "Heather" who lost NINE lbs :)
