I've been surfing........There are so many blogs out there that inspire and cause me to stray from "taking care of my own business". I'm so in awe of the talent and imagination of other crafters that I'm blown away from all my good intentions of the day.
Anyhow I'm happy to report that I've made progress on the "Vest" for the TKGA knit program. As always though, I'm not overjoyed with it. But no matter my feelings... this is the one I'll submit as I must get beyond this stumbling block and finish the swatches. The written work will be last.....yes, I'm putting it off to the very end. Carolyn (Check out her immersion into dyeing/spinning cotton) gave me a copy of "History of Knitting" and I've promised myself that it will become "the" next book to really read.
Here's the vest so far.......just needing the ribbing around the arm openings, sew the sides and the ends and block it. This isn't a very good photo of it....but will try for a better one when it's done.

Other UFO news...
The previously un-named felted bag that still needs embellishing, is now named "Voices In The Wind" and is still a work in progress (a view of the back).

A few small changes and also a lining and hope it will reflect what I envision.
There is a lazy snails progress on the blue shawl (Purly Gurly pattern in August archives). Talking of shawls...I'm tempted to join the new "Flower Basket Shawl" knitalong. The first FBS KAL was great fun even though it took several trips to the frog pond before the pattern "sunk" in. I really would like to have a larger FBS but will ponder this idea a little longer. This temptation is all due to "The Lions Paw" and her gorgeous red shawl (btw Lions Paw, your "leave a comment" doesn't work!)

The next two Saturdays I'll be demonstrating spinning, the first at DeLeon Springs SP and the next at the Pioneer Settlement at Barberville. The Settlement has a drum carder that I need to use (getting my own is still way down my list of "wants"). But by borrowing and carding at these their festivals I enjoy the curiosity of the visitors. I'm going to be carding the extremely mussed up indigo dyed wool I bought from another spinner at the last festival at St. Augustine. Must take more photo's.

I see that "Knitters in Europe" have gotten a fun thing going on. It's called "Flash Your Stash" . Tracy has joined! Can Heather be far behind? I'm feeling rather left out, being an "expat" and all....sniff. Guess I'll have to join the "Friends of Europe Knitters" and watch from the sidelines. If you haven't checked out any of the Brit/Euro blogs then Tracy and Heather's are a great way to start. Come on "Yanks"......the girls and guys from across the pond are kicking butt!

Amie asked...re: silk. How many WPI's? Answer: 32 Don't think it is thin enough to call it cobweb though.
Heather and Sandra asked....re: silk. What am I going to do with it? Answer: No clue but would like suggestions...remember there is only just over 300 yds.
Must tell you how grateful I am for all the lovely comments......yes, I thrive so much better because of them.
