While surfing knit/spin blogs the other day I ran into one that I absolutely must find again. I've followed a zillion trails searching and no luck. Although positive I bookmarked it, when in fact I hadn't...so now I'm pleading to anyone who might know of it from my discription... so please send me the link or info if you come across it. The blog was full of fabulous knits by Adrienne Vittadini and the talk was of doing a KnitAlong based on one of the Vittadini designs. . I really, really, want to join this KnitAlong since it allows and encourages the adding of one's own "elements". The sweater that I must have is white/ish and of a Medievel design so will be shopping for the book in hopes and preparation.

I finally have new glasses and can see. I've switched from 15 yrs of progressive lenses to bifocals (the tiniest they could put in) since no one could manage to fit the progressive portion into the dinky smaller cool frames. I've been out of "optical" fashion for years because as a child my old stern ballet teacher beat it into me to hold my head up. She had me for about six years so the habit of "looking down my nose" is set in cement and only large lenses can accommodate the progressives and this habit. Now I have to learn to move my eyes to focus instead of moving my head. But I do love the "new look". The frames came with magnetic "shades"....how cool is that!

Another happy ending.....delivery of the baby blankets and getting paid. Not only was I handsomely paid but as a bonus was given these 20 balls of novelty yarn. They will provide me with hours of fun knitting. The perfect companion to a good movie or audio book.
The book ("Folk Bags" by Vicki Square insisted on coming home with me) was a splurge after checking out a new yarn shop in Jacksonville. At least half the bags in it are a must for me to knit, including the one on the cover.
But to introduce the yarn shop.... "KnitWitz" is located in the Mandarin area of SE Jax. It's just a tad west on Hartley off of St. Augustine rd. I recommend that knitter's stop by for a visit as this shop will need all the support they can get for it to blossom. So far it has a nice selection but obviously small amount of yarn. Lot's of very nice books though....I was tempted by several. After a nice chat about spinning she was more than agreeable to stocking fibers and such....hoping so! I'll go back often enough to keep her interested.

Do you see what I found at an 'estate sale'?
It's well hidden under the finished Civil War capelet (finished but waiting for Carl to craft me 3 toggles for closures). I'm now the proud owner of the "TwinFit" mannequin. Although my twin (named Jeanne McGregor for the imaginary alter ego I had as a child) has some slight fading she is otherwise in perfect shape (unlike mine hehe). It has dials for every area but it's only drawback is that it's biggest size is a 12. I'm sure that was the only reason it was still unsold. This perhaps is good, as it will make me pay attention to what I eat as I edge closer to it's max. Oh, I got it for just $30 :)
Happy knitting till next time...and stay away from the frog pond.
