Diz and Dat

The Spinners got the answer right to "What the Shell will be used for". It's a "Diz"! I'll have to research some more to find out why this handy little tool was given such a name. Also I'll take a photo of a Diz in action. As to the name of the shell....well, pretty much it's still a mystery but I've not given up on it and will let everyone know what it is when I find out and you can be sure I'll get more of them.

Knitting has been on the back burner this week as is most crafty things. The house, inside and out have demanded attention and to top it off I needed to make a "new and improved" Pioneer "costume" for this weekends Barberville Pioneer Settlement's Jamboree. Once the sewing machine was out I couldn't avoid doing some of the "fix-it's" that had been hidden from sight. I'm now feeling quite relieved, having cleared up a few outstanding jobs. But I'm feeling desperately deprived of the feel of fiber. This weekend should fix that as my (volunteer) job is to spin and show how and for my efforts I get fed...can life get any better than that :o

I promise to bore you all silly with photo's next week and I hope to have solved the mystery of the shell, which by the way I'll be wearing around my neck and demonstrating what a "Diz duz"....sorry a little bit of East Anglian slang slipped out.

Oh....Mola Mess/Jacket/Poncho is kicking and screaming about becoming a Poncho but I'm determined to win that war in the end. I think I'll go and prod it a little now it's on my mind and make something nice and iced.

Happy Guy Fawks Day,

"Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, Treason and Plot,
I see no reason why gunpowder and treason,
Should ever be forgot."
