This is just a quickie post for those of you that may be interested in spinning with a Drop Spindle. This LINK will take you the best online instructions I've so far found. I decided to demo the Drop Spindle today instead of the Wheel (less to carry) so I printed out Mielke's instructions to give as handouts...figure that saves a whole lot of "show and tell" and gives those interested a good place to purchase their fiber. Also last night I put together several CD drop spindles to sell at minimal cost. I really do want to inspire new spinners in this area of Florida (otherwise known as the "barren wastes" for fiber artists).
Donna asked me for the link to the new "Flower Basket Shawl" KAL . I'm thinking I'd like to do one in a thicker yarn this time (less work for bigger shawl). For anyone planning to knit this shawl, the picture is deceiving......it is modeled (draped over one shoulder) to give the appearance that it's larger than actuality You may want to consider working one or more extra repeats.
Time to get ready.....thankfully it's NOT supposed to rain today, but we'll have a cool 68 for comfort in handling fiber.
